Austrian Beef Train Arrives

The Wild added a very physical presence to the roster yesterday, signing 6'6" defenseman Andre Lakos to a free agent contract. Lakos will be invited to training camp and is expected to compete for a spot with the club.

Making the team shouldn't be a problem, in this writer's opinion. The Wild's defense corps isn't exactly riddled with Prongers and Niedermeyers. Outside of Johnsson, Burns and Schultz (although you'll hear me argue about that) no one's job is safe.

I would argue that Carney's job is probably pretty safe. He did a good job with teaching Burns this past season.

Yeah, you're right about Carney. He's usually solid for about 15 minutes a game.

15 minutes is longer than Skoula is solid for.

Andre Lakos? The guy was pretty much a slug in the AHL. I'd be shocked if he played more than 30 games with the Wild this season.
