Desired Matchups

Ok, maybe I got ahead of myself a bit with the whole Stanley Cup parade route, but yesterday was a very exciting day for the Minnesota Wild. Not only did they beat the Avalanche in OT, Calgary got smoked by the Canucks. No wait, I'm supposed to be cheering against Vancouver...this is soooo confusing. Anyhow, the 3rd seed now appears likely, and with it I offer my desired first round playoff matchups:

1. Dallas Stars: Dallas has been struggling since the Richards' trade and would be a great first round opponent. Turco's letting soft goals in regularly and they're not able to score on the other end with any consistency. I honestly can't see them scoring more than 2 goals in a single game against the Wild.

2. Vancouver Canucks: Taking out the Canucks again would be pretty choice, I must admit. But I do have some concerns about Luongo getting ridiculous and shutting the team down. Still a good matchup.

3. Colorado Avalanche: In a seven game series Forsberg would probably play 2 or 3 games, sitting out the others with mysterious injuries, so he's not much of a factor. Colorado frightens me a bit, though, because they can score in bunches.

4. Calgary Flames: Despite their struggles as of late, I would not enjoy a series against the Flames. Iginla might score a hattie every game and Phaneuf would injure our entire 3rd line. The Wild can't win at the Saddledome, either.
