Priorities

As a fellow father I am flabbergasted that Canuck goaltender Roberto Luongo would travel across country to play hockey only one day after the birth of his daughter. He should be with his family in this most precious of times, bonding with his little girl and helping his wife in her time of need. You can't get these moments back, Roberto. Years from now the young girl will ask "why isn't Daddy in these pictures at the hospital?" His only reply will be "Daddy had to go to work because he doesn't care about family. He only cares about the Canucks." Sad story indeed.

Update 5:30pm -- Although unknown by some oblivious Canucks fans, this piece was written completely tongue-in-cheek.

Didnt Parish play hockey a day after his Daughter was born? I believe his wife said "(cant remember his kids name) cant wait to watch her daddy play"...

I hate the Nucks as much as anyone but playing in the NHL isnt just a job,he has a pasion for the game. they are in a playoff race and i am sure he wants to Win as much as anyone. You might not ahve that burning desire to be a winner but i am sure he does.

I'm sure this isn't motivated by the next game being against us, either. (I am a wild fan, but not a father, so I can only partially comment). I know a Bruin (Krejci or Reich, a fourth-liner) was playing the same night, and that was mid-season.

Get over yourself! He flew over night to Florida so he could be there for the birth, and then flew back when he was sure baby and mum were healthy. The Canucks are in danger of losing their playoff spot, so he probably feels a responsibility to the team that is paying him so much money to be the number 1 guy. I'm sure he'll be back to see them as soon as he can. Go ahead and hate the Canucks, but there's no need to insult Luongo personally. And if that is true about Parrish, you're pretty hypocritical.

You are such a moron! Roberto LOVES his family and would do anything for them, but he also loves CanuckNation.

Screw you and your tongue-in-cheek comments and your stupid team too!

:-)

It's tough being a Canuck fan these days... you can understand if we get a little hot under the collar.

Damn. Did you just get called a loser?

By these fans whose team is about as cheap as they come?

Sorry. Your team completely imploding will impair your tongue in cheek radar. Carry on. Congrats on the win.

Thanks Alix, I appreciate it. Good win for the Wild tonight. I have a hunch it'll be a completely different Vancouver team next year if Dave Nonis gets his way.

Your team looks pretty freakin good. And it pains me to say that. Nonis has money to spend so you're probably right on that one.

Thanks, Alix. We'll see how long it lasts...
