Demons Be Gone

In an effort to dispel the bad vibe that was the Minnesota Wild after the Game 1 loss, I went ahead and exorcised those demons Friday night and spurred the team onto victory. In what I think is not just circumstance, before the puck was dropped I did the following:

1. Put up pictures of Peter Forsberg and Joe Sakic up on my dart board and successfully hit Forsberg in the ankle and Sakic in the neck with darts. (After missing several times first and uttering a few choice words)

2. Ordered food from 88 Wok. Sure, I order a lot of chinese food when I watch hockey, but Friday was different. Friday I ordered my normal entree, but to switch things up I also ordered a side of potstickers. From the moment I bit into the first one I could tell they were both delicious and magical.

3. Wore Pavol Demitra jersey. Clearly that gave #38 a spark. He was completely invisible during game one, but may have been the 2nd best player (Koivu) on the ice for the Wild. I will continue to wear this jersey for the remainder of the playoff run. And, yes, I still think he should be resigned, even at the cost of losing Rolston. This is a minority opion among Wild fans, but it is what I truly believe. Losing Demitra would spell certain doom in their chances to extend #10.

4. Watched 5 minutes of "Diff'rent Strokes". It was a later episode and Willis had gone to the geri-curl look. Comcast has some episodes "On Demand".

Game 3, as we know, is Monday night at 9pm local time. I plan on recreating all of these critical activities, so the team should be ok. I suggest all Wild fans join me in these rituals.

I'm in. Especially the dart part. Unfortunately I do not have a Demitra jersey, so I will have to choose a separate one to wear, which will hopefully not interrupt the karma.

Superstitious rituals? Count me in.

Backstrom as a sweater has good karma right now.

For swearers I would have to choose between Fernandez, Mitchell, Boogaard, and Sheppard. Of course, Willie and Manny obviously do not play for us anymore.

Hmm, Shepp maybe? I feel like you should not wear the sweaters of players who are gone, the karma might work against you. Walz didn't help in game 1.
