The pages of Wild Puck Banter will be dark for the next 3 days in honor of Brian Rolston, who apparently thinks Newark has a better youth hockey program than St. Paul. Goodbye, number 12, we'll miss you.

Thank you Very Very Very Much Doug R. Great leadership...????
Its a bummer to see Rolston leave. He delivered everything promised and more. Cannot blame him for wanting the big cash, and this was a good year with so few stars.
Reality is that you have to develop your untouchable stars from young talent, because you can't afford more than one or two dominant players that can take over a game. My fear is that unless Gabby can up his gane on par with guys like Zetterberg, Dtysuk, Ovech, J Thornton...we are going to have to wait. I believe Koivu can be that guy...but he needs some veteren help scoring, taking draws, and getting some consistent linemates.
Certainly Demo was a bust at 4.5M. Keeping Gabby is obviously good, but for anything to happen this year, we need to sign a relatively dominant guy that can score, and forcheck, and crash the net. I think we have the money...but I think it will come via trade. I thought we might go after Langkow. We got to find a scoring center in this mess! We'll see if DR can do it. PS-Russo's blog is outstanding. The guy rocks!
By the way did Demitra sign yet?
