Trend or Mirage?

Three games in and I have noticed a few things that may be trends or short-term mirages:
1.  I don't notice Ryan Suter on the ice and this is a good thing.  Like football offensive linemen, the less I notice a defenseman the better.  Suter is smooth, does not make glaring mistakes and eats a lot of minutes; he just does not make the flashy, sexy play.  No complaints here.
2.  More than anything else, Zach Parise's hustle is his best attribute.  Sure, he has plenty of other very good skills, but what stands out to me is his never-ending energy.  It seems like he is always the first one to a loose puck, the first guy to backcheck and never dogs it.
3.  Anthony LaPanta is not horrible; I would classify him as a slight upgrade over Dan Terhaar.  Obviously not Doc Emrick or even Ralph Strangis, but better than I though he'd be.
4.  I'm becoming a big fan of Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.  Get a sack of tortilla chips and dip away.  Spicy, yet not over the top.  Good alternative to salsa.

I also enjoy red pepper hummus. For an interesting twist you can make a similar creation: black beans pureed with cilantro, lime, onion and red peppers. I think of it as a coastal mexican hummus. Black beans have a better flavor than garbanzo beans IMO. You also retain more dietary fiber if you make hummus at home vs processed.

I'm hoping Suter becomes a little more noticeable. I really think Parise was worth the money. I don't recall this many scoring chances from our top line last year. But, Suter has to do a little more to prove his worth.
