He delivered everything promised and more. Cannot blame him for wanting the big cash, and this was a good year with so few stars.<BR/><BR/>Reality is that you have to develop your untouchable stars from young talent, because you can't afford more than one or two dominant players that can take over a game. My fear is that unless Gabby can up his gane on par with guys like Zetterberg, Dtysuk, Ovech, J Thornton...we are going to have to wait. I believe Koivu can be that guy...but he needs some veteren help scoring, taking draws, and getting some consistent linemates.<BR/><BR/>Certainly Demo was a bust at 4.5M. Keeping Gabby is obviously good, but for anything to happen this year, we need to sign a relatively dominant guy that can score, and forcheck, and crash the net. I think we have the money...but I think it will come via trade. I thought we might go after Langkow. We got to find a scoring center in this mess! We'll see if DR can do it. PS-Russo's blog is outstanding.
